Ciena: 5169

Feb. 21, 2024
Ciena’s 5169 Router is purpose-built to address broadband and 5G networks that converge 4G/5G fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul (xHaul) networks onto a common infrastructure.

Ciena’s 5169 Router is purpose-built to address broadband and 5G networks that converge 4G/5G fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul (xHaul) networks onto a common infrastructure. With 1/10/25GbE to 100/200GbE aggregation, the 100GbE-optimized 5169 supports hard (FlexEthernet or FlexE) and soft (Segment Routing or SR) network slicing. The 5169 can simplify and de-risk mobile and wholesale operators' unique 4G-to-5G journeys while equally capable of sitting on the rack for subtended micro-optical line terminal (uOLT) applications. While broadband networks face unprecedented momentum, providers must embrace open and scalable architectures that quickly adapt to future requirements. Ciena’s 5169 Router can accommodate large-scale deployments requiring ToR aggregation of up to 256 OLTs.

Judge‘s Comment: “Ciena’s 5169 enables routing for all x-haul applications.”
